Hi, not been around recently as it's been crazy here! Hope everybody is surviving. We are running a diamond jubilee week next week and need to link it to all our subjects. I have covered most but am really struggling to come up for something with maths. If anybody has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Chris

Could get them to do some research on the way things have changed in the last 60 years eg. population, percentage of women working outside the home, life expectancy, cost of a loaf of bread etc.  then get them to use data handling skills to present the information meaningfully and draw conclusions.

what about finding different ways of making 60? Depending on abitlities you could expect more able to include a wider range of operations/ calcuations.

I have found some stuff for my Y6 next week on the TES site. Can forward it to you if you like? A murder mystery activity, a maths game, top trumps etc.

Got to be something relating to the Olympic torch relay (number of people taking part, distance covered, time taken, size of crowds etc etc) - we've been having a great time watching the torch-cam on the bbc website!
