I can't add much into this at the moment but when I go back I am keen to do a topic on Africa maybe called African Adventure, and perhaps one themed around pirates. I know my class haven't covered either one but I'm not sure if anyone higher up is doing them.

What are other people doing?

I've done pirates and I loved it!
Not exciting this year - Great Fire of London, Florence Nightingale, The seaside. Very blurgh, not so creative and not even well linked in cases. Sad
Still I'm sure I can add to it/ twist it to make it more creative!

I did lots... just got to remember it!
Co-ordinates, grid references, map skills, atlas work, historical sources and bias, flags and symbols, food/ health, floating and sinking, making rafts, instructions, costume, research, storys, mazes, diary entries, money/ gold, made coins with tinfoil (pushing design through with blunt pencil - they were amazed!!), 3D nets (for treasure chests), PSHE (precious things to go in treasure chest - not just money) and my all time favourite was a treasure hunt with a toy crocodile!
