You still have to grease them for cakes. They are very easy to wash out though and will go in a dishwasher. You also have to remember to put them on a metal tray as they are very flexible!!!

Hmm these have been cropping up in tesco and such recently that i have noticed. Have been tempted to invest in one or two to see what they are like. Y3Warrior, if you buy some will you let me know how you get on?

They are great for roasting in or for cooking stuff like lasagne. You can freeze the lasagne in the container the ease it out and wrap it up. Then when you want to heat it up you can put it back in the 'tin' and straight in to the oven. For cakes you really do have to grease them or even put a ring of the silicone paper on the bottom. If you make your own yorkshires they are brilliant.

Y3Warrior said that without moving her mouth. Smile

They might not look beautiful but you can see how clean amd easy they come out of the silicone tray. I think I will get a large square one for my roasties. I am fed up with them sticking.

I use silicon bakeware as well but i never grease it and everything comes out no problem. i have flat mats for biscuits, individual muffin cups of different sizes and a square cake pan. I think they are great but only buy them when i see them half price otherwise they would be too expensive. (since i have a cupboard full of tinware)

I've got some silicone bits. They are pretty good, but I don't like my 2lb loaf 'tin' - it bulges at the sides.

LOL!

Might have to buy myself some 'silicone bits'.  Though only ones which don't bulge, of course.

My sister runs her own catering business and she uses silicone for most of her baking.  She swears by them.
