I've been reading 'Cirque du Freak' by Darren Shan to my class of Y5 and 6. It's fabulous! There's a cliff hanger at the end of every chapter, which are about 5 pages long, so we can read a chapter every day without having to stop in the middle!!! It's gory without detail, so it's shocking them without putting the squeamish off!
It's one of 12 of a set, so it looks like we're sorted!!! Highly recommended!!!
(I nearly cheated and took it home with me this weekend to read but felt guilty!!) |

| I think it's the first time I've read a book with a class where I want to continue. I like the way it uses good vocab but also explains in the text what it means!! It's on the edge of being quite menacing but hits it just right! I think you'd love it Magpie!! |
