Big Writing - where/how to start?
At our keystage meeting last night it was decided that we would start big writing after half term.  Please could someone point me in the directions of some good resources/websites/examples of good practice? I am in year 1/2 and have no experience of this at all.

Thanks.
Smile
Big Writing - where/how to start?
I have no idea about yr 1/2 as I would think although it may be done slightly different to upper phase. But did have these which relate to key stage 1

Big Writing - where/how to start?
Sorry, not my age group.

Did it for first time yesterday with Y5 though and they loved it!

Wouldn't know where to start with your little ones, but I hope they love it too!
Big Writing - where/how to start?
Thanks both. I need to start it after half term so will have to do some research and be ready by then! x
Big Writing - where/how to start?
As a fellow 1/2 teacher i would be interested to hear how you do it! we don't do big writing and vcop officially but i have used the vcop stuff in ks2 and i would like to introduce it to ks1 too.
Big Writing - where/how to start?
When I find out how its going I will try to remember to let you know vegaslady! I think it will be a little experimental to start with but I have heard so many good things about big writing that we have to give it a go. Smile
Big Writing - where/how to start?
Andrell do a series of books; i think the Gold one is for KS1 we have the aubergine one in KS2.
Big Writing - where/how to start?
I'd recommend the aubergine book too - ideas in there of how to start but quite KS2 based.

Maybe you could just start with a simple idea of wow words & goal scorer of the week. Following on from that maybe move to simple connectives spotting them first then creating a display of these two aspects.

I've also heard there's something called GHASP think it's a Ros Wilson thing which is for Reception and lower KS1.
Big Writing - where/how to start?
Also look on www.fieryideas.com-in the freebies section they have a Big Writing Timer that I always use.  I also recommend the aubergine book.
