We have one of these in each class, I love it. It's very easy to use and as I'm getting 6 computers put in my room at the moment I'm thinking of recording short stories and using them in reading.

They listen, then write a summary/character description/spell new words/find the meaning of new words etc etc ...

I've found this piece of software which looks good. It's called Etoys and it's a bit like logo only you can do loads with it. the thing that sold it to me is you can draw a steering wheel and steer objects you draw which is very cool. you can also model things like acceleration with it. You download it from here:

http://www.squeakland.org/

And if you want to see it being used you can see a video here:

http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng..._a_powerful_idea_about_ideas.html

where the guy uses it about half way through.

This site is really great http://www.vuvox.com/collage

you can link in videos as a type of 'hidden' object.

This is great if you want to display your children's work or photos on a website. It creates a moving collage with music.

Am totally brassed off with any technology at the moment as my classroom computer won't even operate my whiteboard at the moment. Our system is too old and antiquated to support anything modern so there's no point even trying to think of how to use it if you can't Mad

Picked up this from Mark's blog. It's all about improving powerpoint presentations. Some of it I already knew but there are some really good ideas on it. The list of weblinks is good as well
