Hi most of you may or may not know I am leaving this school after many years to do PGCE. I am having a bad time as people are treating me like a piece of s*** and I am no longer included in anything, given mundane tasks and ignored in many conversations. Have to say not other TA's or teachers just SMT. I feel very sad. Sad

Sorry to hear that fedup, do you know what the root of this is or is just because you are leaving and moving on?

I'm really sorry to hear about that - thats awful after everything you have done there over your time there. At least the end is in sight. The people who are giving out the silly mundane jobs to you are the ones who are being petty, ridiculous and childish.

Just cos I am moving on ! I know Nutty and others are going through the same thing but as a TA why do I have to be treated like I suddenly don't have a brain and can't do my usual tasks. Instead I get to clear out cupboards. Aaaargh just so annoying. Sad

Not surprised you feel sad. Try and ignore them and spend time with the other teachers and TAs.

((((fedup))))) On a positive note, I love clearing cupboards at school at this time of the year (when I am not checking SATS papers), I find it relaxing and love throwing away all the rubbish that has accumulated over the year.

You can come and do some reading with mine! In fact there's a million things you could do - and you wouldn't have to go near a cupboard....
Sorry they are being so petty - but not long now....  Very Happy

Sorry to hear you are having a bad time.

Just to put the other side of the argument, this time of year is really odd in schools.  Everyone is starting to think about the next year and trying to get closure on this. I t can make people behave thoughtlessly.  I am looking forward to getting my y6s doing clearing up jobs for me over the next couple of weeks, and pushing work to the back burner, to be honest.  I hope you feel better about it soon, and remember, you are going on to better things! Enjoy that.

Our HLTA's Yr 10 daughter is on work experience in one of our feeder first schools this week, meant to be getting experience of working with children, well she's been washing up and cleaning most of the week.  My HLTA rang up the work experience coord at the upper school to complain - he's going to suggest to the school that she rotates around the classes (i.e. hopefully to someone who will let her do some stuff with the children!) rather than stay int he same one.  He was very appreciative that she had rung up, as he said otherwise they don't know and assume that it's all hunky dory!

That is ridiculous. I would have told her that sorting out her office was her job OR have given it a real sorting: vital data?, bin; affectionate pctures, bin; etc
