Hi everyone, another lurker here.  Used to read the 'other' forum regularly, posting occasionally under another name, but couldn't be doing with the gremlins and trolls.

It's great to see the support and friendship on this forum.
I'm moving to Year 1 in September after several years in LKS2, and planning for a creative curriculum.  Looks like a busy year ahead!

Hello

I've been teaching for 6 years, throughout KS2.

Last year I decided to take a year out of teaching because my son was starting school.

My wife is a teacher too, so we felt it important that he had someone to take him to and from school as he settled in. He really suffered at pre-school with us both being full-time.

I decided I needed to do something productive during my year out, and so learnt how to programme and made a series of maths resources for IWBs:

www.mathsframe.co.uk

In a previous life I was an actuary, so the maths came fairly easily to me.

I've enjoyed my year, and my son has certainly benefited, but I have missed teaching (which has come as a bit of a surprise!)

I shall be looking for a part-time teaching job in September, so that I can continue making my software and giving time to my son as he settles in year 1.

I am always looking for new ideas for maths resources, so please let me know if anything comes to mind.

Hi all, often 'lurk' have posted more recently, now that I have time I've realised I never did introduce myself (throws hands up in shock horror) Crying or Very sad

I teach in an indy school, primary trained but now teach mainly maths and science years 4, 5 and 6.  I came into teaching very late having left school hoping to go to teacher training but results meant I had to look for a job.  2 children plus many jobs and years later including secretary, banking and running a playgroup - names but a few Laughing and here I am.

Love this site, it is so friendly and supportive.

Hi everybody
I'm happy face - used to post quite regularly on TES but that seems like many moons ago...

I'm a 35 year old KS1 teacher, curriculum leader and ICT coordinator - love my job but will be letting someone else do it for a while as I'm about to start maternity leave - which means lots of time to lurk and linger on here before baby comes and leaves me with no time whatsoever...
