| Are NQTs entitled to any funding for classroom resources or is that something from the past? |

I've never been aware that it has ever been something available. _________________ 'I didn't fail. I just found 10000 ways not to make a light bulb.' Thomas Edison |

Some schools let NQTs spend some of the money the school gets for having an NQT - probably depends on how tight the budget is overall!!!!! _________________ www.trinityeducational.co.uk |

| Thanks for your replies. Trinity, I think this was the case I was thinking about. NQT was working at a church school and allowed her an amount to spend on her classroom. |

| What sort of thing did you have in mind that you might need? What year group? Once I got to the back of the cupboard in my NQT room, I discovered that most things I needed (or a near substitute) were there. Unless you've taken over from an extremely selfish individual who has removed everything, I'd expect you to have enought in there to get started at least. And I suspect that until you've got at least 1/2 a term under your belt, you'll be in danger of spending money on things you think you'll need or look good but aren't actually that much use!! Good luck |

Thanks Knight rider. The room has not been used as a classroom and looks as though it was used for storage mostly and somewhere for TAs to take small groups.
I think you are right though about resources. I'll have a good snoop around the school and see what is available when I go in next. |

| Nothing specifically for NQTs but you may should get some money to spend on requisition. I get about £100 - £150 each year for all my art materials, any special bits and pieces I want. |
