What do you think?2literacy observaions - year 4 imaginary worlds. We have done 1 week on setting.
lesson 1 - warm up, Reading a passage from a text, discuss where it is set and how do they know
main activity, Display large treassure map where each square has a setting wrote in. Recap what makes a good setting linking to 5 senses. Pick a square for myself and say what might it look like. Display image. What sounds might i hear? Play sound files. Take feedback.
Model write setting. Chn to take squares and provide with an envelope with image setting.
LA to have same setting and sentence openers to use
MA each setting but have an envelope with words to help if needed.
HA independant
Plenary share
Thursday unsure i wanted to do something either with the map again or to do how setting reflect moods of characters
Any advice or tips much appreciated.

Sorry being picky should be "written" in!
Sounds good, really like the map idea.
Perhaps you could ask the children to think about the character that would live in the setting they described and how that setting reflects the mood of the character. Model first using your own setting.

I think the lesson sounds good and agree with Choccat about the character. Just thinking about fantasy settings that would work well for this...
