Stuck!! Yr 6 history Britain since 1948 - home lifeHi all,
I've done really well today and planned the above topic but am stuc for an activity based on the lesson about how homelife has changed.
I've made a Notebook file showing differences in highstreets/shopping, highlighting home based mums vs working mums, and looking at how families used to spend more time together and are often now all plugged into various technological devices.
Now I'm stuck for an activity for them to do after we've done all the chatting.
Any ideas?

What about looking at adverts that portray home mums V working mums. The government were deperately tryig to get women back into the home after the war so you could look at the propoganda posters and talk about siilaities and differences then design their own. OR they culd write an argument about the role of women or have a debate-very interesting and good fun. Can you tell I adore 1920-1950???

That sounds great. Thanks Posingpoodle.
I got them to draw posters to enourage women to work during WW2 in the first half term so this would be a nice reflection of it.
Thanks!!!

Cool, we are going to create for and against arguments for the changes and then create a poster either for or against.
Then I have a decimilisation sheet with old and modern prices and a conversion sheet so they can convery from old to new pence. (plus a pathe film to watch about it.)
