Sssssssssh!

It's very quiet in here isn't here. I'm all alone and feel as though I have to whisper.

So quiet that my message didn't make sense, It's quiet in here isn't it?
Been a stressful day, going to chill out in a corner with a book

That's a great idea, I won't disturb you!

I'm here in the corner with my coffee reading The Pig Who Sang to the Moon. Fascinating book about the emotional lives of animals.  I am reading some others but the library cat has just sat on me so I can't get up to go and check the authors. Mustn't disturb the library cat. He has very sharp claws.

I haven't read The pig who sang to the moon but remember reading about it. I know pigs have very strong emotional lives! It all points to why we should at least farm animals sensitively even if we aren't going to be vegetarian.

I recommended it to you last week. you have to read it SH. the library may have it. The section on pigs is quite short then it talks about chickens. I can't remember what comes next. if farmers recognise how intelligent animals are and how they have strong feelings how can they kill them? treating them nicely during their life is better than mistreating them but still the ultimate betrayal comes when they are killed. the other animals are aware of it as well. i'll go back to my corner now.

Did you really recommend it to me last week? I'm getting so forgetful! Sorry. I am absolutely with you in your corner, Tui, but if most people aren't going to be with us then at least compassionate farming is better than nothing.
tui

That is true. I thought I had mentioned it when you were telling us about your naughty pig biting the Treacle's ear! however checking back I didn't.

It's set in Cornwall though and all the lovely descriptions are making me think about holidays.

I've not been in the Library much this week - looking forward to having some more time to read in the holidays.
