Sen helpI am helping a friend who is a new senco and is busy. She is introducing provision maps at a staff meeting next week. Any tips. help or assistance with this. Also, her head is keen to replace ieps with the provision maps. Has anyone done this.

This is a very useful site for tips and formats for new SENCOs. I introduced provision maps but not to get rid of IEPS rather to reduce them, some kids need Individual plans.

I think this is useful

Many schools are moving to provision maps to track and manage their interventions they have in place for groups of children with SEN and the progress pupils make with them. This then leaves IEPs for additional support which is truly individual to that particular pupil's needs.
I too will be interested to hear of people's experiences in implementing them.
Does your friend use the Becta SENCO forum - there is a wealth of experience and advice on there?

Heres a link to it - is this what you are using? It does tend to be dominated by secondary SENCOs but there are a fair number of primary ones on there too.

You do have to register to take part. Then I have a daily compilation of posts made emailed to my school e-mail each day.
On the link I have given you if you click on the archives you can sort them by topic which is useful.
