Fantastic thank you teachingmachine I will happily share anything I have when it is all planned.

Have just listened to the sound samples. I quite like BACCHANALIA.

It's difficult to ignore the man talking all over it, though.
He sounds like a depressed robot!

The CD is on itunes for 7.99 or you can buy the individual tracks!

During the summer term just gone BBC radio did a 'Dance Workshop' series that featured the Romans.
Teachers Notes available here:

and looks as if you can still order the CD from here:

Good luck! I tried to downlaod the series when broadcast - managed 2 (I think) and then forgot the next 2 and then it became irrelevant cos I found out I was changing year groups and so not teaching Romans this year.

Thank you will take a look at that Whizz

Checked out the BBC site-due to copyright they only have CDs available for the programmes being broadcast that term. That suggests that last term's prog is not available until broadcast again! Rats!! Tracher notes look good so could try to use own music, Respighi wrote the Pines of Rome and that has marching music on it. I'm not sure what the rest is like. Check it out on Spotify. I'm sure it could be used having just sampled it.

Or one of his others such as Fountains of Rome, Roman Festivals- all on one CD Respighi's Rome.

I really liked the BBC thing, so have taken the planning from that and ordered the CD, only problem was I had to get them to invoice school as they don't accept private orders. If t is a problem I will pay for it but hope it doesn't cause problems!

When I did Romans we did a dance sequence which involved army marching and a battle with celts to 'Mars' from 'The Planets'.

Our Celt/Roman battle was done to chariots of fire a few years ago - it was the only way I could slow them down and prevent a real battle!
