recommendation from my class

I've been reading 'Cirque du Freak' by Darren Shan to my class of Y5 and 6. It's fabulous! There's a cliff hanger at the end of every chapter, which are about 5 pages long, so we can read a chapter every day without having to stop in the middle!!! It's gory without detail, so it's shocking them without putting the squeamish off!
It's one of 12 of a set, so it looks like we're sorted!!! Highly recommended!!!
(I nearly cheated and took it home with me this weekend to read but felt guilty!!)
magpie nic

Not read any of those but will now add them to my list... well if you are enjoying it, it is obvious I will!!

I think it's the first time I've read a book with a class where I want to continue. I like the way it uses good vocab but also explains in the text what it means!! It's on the edge of being quite menacing but hits it just right! I think you'd love it Magpie!!

Sounds fantastic! Never heard of it before, but must investigate further...
wicked witch

A boy I had last year raved about them but I had never got around to looking at them. I will make sure I do now.
