Reading comprehension - inference and deduction questions

The majority of my year 4 class can cope with the plain information retrieval questions very well.  However, they struggle with the inference and deduction ones and also the 'Why has the author used this word to describe this?' ones.

I want to create a set of smartboard slides showing a piece of text, a 'between the lines' question and 3 possible answers.

The children would then select which answer is best and therefore would deserve 2 marks.

Firstly, has anyone already done this, and if so, please may I borrow it!

If not, does anyone have any suggestions for types of mistakes, useful pointers etc.

Do you have smartboards in school ally? if so I have quite a nifty flip chart you could use. What's your e-mail?
