Organising trips during the holidaysDo any schools do this? I don't mean a school trip, but trips for parents and their children to go on together.

Like a PTA trip? Our school offer something like that - its ia daytrip to places like a zoo, beach, aquarium etc.. everyone pays the amount and it covers the coach and entrance made as a group booking - the PTA usually don't make any money from it but it more about encouraging people to get together and get out & about giving the children new experiences the parents wouldn't offer if it wasn't so available to them. Genaerlly a good take up too considering we are in a socially deprived area.

Yes, that kind of thing. Was talking to a few parents who don't really have the money to pay train fares, so would appreciate this kind of trip. Haven't spoken to head, as wanted to know whether other schools did this kind of thing.
Thanks a lot!

Yes, it generally is a good day for everyday, as you say if they don't drive but have 2/3 children it can be expensive. We have a trip at the end of May/June Hols usually as the weather is generally ok at that time.
Hope you get something set up.

Sounds like a good thing for a PTA to organise in areas where childrne don't usually get these types of experiences.

If anyone has any further info on how they go about organising this kind of thing, charging money and insurance etc. I'd be really grateful
Thanks!
