You need to analyse the food like Greg Wallace when he serves it.

Think cooks should clean up after themselves, especially when they've made a lot of mess by being 'creative'.

I agree with greyengine.
Did the smoke alarm let you know tea was ready?!

When my hubby cooks it's such a big deal. He watches every mouthful I take and I have to make appropriate noises of rapture...
too much hard work - I'd rather do it myself!!

Haha, brownbear! My OH likes a bit of praise for cooking but he's not too bad, thankfully. He also likes me to taste everything while he's cooking as he's yet to learn the art of seasoning!

well after dinner I had to critique and I said I preferred his grilled on the barbie chicken,,, of course I got the humph.
just give me a salad and I'm happy, why does it have to be exotic.
and believe me, I still have to clean after he cleans.. so ...
and yes the smoke alarm went, thats when the cats went under the bed...
oh well. could be worse I suppose...

At least it was edible and he attempted to clean up!!
My OH manages to make a mess of the kitchen even when all he has to do is heat his dinner up in the microwave. He can never use the plate I put it on; so heats it up then transfesr to another plate, this also involves at least two sets of cutlery and depending on how long he has spent in the pub a fair amount of splliage. This is then all left for the "fairies" to deal with.

My OHs cooking is hard work for me too, How do you make gravy? Where is the onions, what would you like etc. Then have to say an inedible meal is lovely. Son just refuses to eat it. Oh well at least he tries, but am glad it is not too often,

My hubby once really did set fire to things, he was cooking steak and thought he'd flambe it and added some whiskey, only thing is he added far too much - all I saw were the flames billowing into the extractor fan (probably fanning the flames!)
