November

The 11th month of the year.

This month is usually quite long I thin because it starts off Autumney and then its Christmas by the end almost. It is a busy month at school too.

What plans do you have for November? Do you have big aspirations for this month or anything exciting coming up?

I'm procrastinating...

I love November- Bonfire night, mine and hubby's birthday, both of our sisters turn 40 this month, meeting up in York, and the fact that everywhere starts to feel Christmassy- what is not to love about November, apart from the dark afternoons.
I have been off work for a year next week, a bittersweet anniversary.

Just hate the fact that it gets darker and darker with each passing day Crying or Very sad   Also, listening to the longterm weather forecast, it's expected to be a wet, windy and cool month.  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  And it's SUCH a busy half term. Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  I think I'll hibernate...

I'm determind to start the month on a positive, can't say i'm looking forward to the next few weeks with how busy things will be - but I'm looking forward to getting back to school and seeing what the term brings.

This is always my favourite term in school, and it is when it will hit me hardest what I have given up. Will be begging little magpies teachers to let me help out in their classrooms!
I love the smell of November, but hate all the random firework noises.
I will help you all to stay positive this november!

Magpie, you'd be welcome to help out in my classroom but the journey to the West Midlands might be a bit difficult!
We've got a big family party next weekend for my Mum's 90th birthday - Mum and Dad, their 3 children and spouses, 7 grandchildren (3 with spouses) and 5 great-grandchildren all coming from different parts of the country - so should be a good get-together.

Hate the start of November (and end of October) because nothing interesting happens and the days are getting shorter and shorter with no 'events't to break up the tedium.  Work's fairly tough going as well for the first few weeks back.   But by the last week of November I tend to find the Christmas holidays are close enough to start thinking about and then all hell breaks loose at school with Christmas stuff and before you know it it's all over bar the shouting.

Personally I much prefer the winter and spring terms at school to this one.   Think it's just because time seems to really drag at this time of year (see point earlier about nothing interesting happening!).

I love and hate this half term in equal measure. I love the excitement and anticipation of Christmas but hate the length of the term and the fact that there is so much to do.

Even longer for you with your early half term, WW.  Not too bad here, only 7 weeks compared to nearly 8 the last one.

Well its been a very wet and windy start to November here. A bit of a mixed month really. OH has been off work for 6 months and so has a meeting with occupational health and his boss on Wednesday this week so Im a bit worried about that. Sad
He also has a meeting at the hospital about his aunt who had a stroke last month. Looks like she is going to have to go into a home as she can't look after herself now. We will have to organise this knowing she really doesn't want it. Sad
As others have said November is a bit like the lull before the storm as we lead up to Christmas and it can drag and seem gloomy because of the dark mornings and dark nights.  Sad
However one good thing, its my birthday in November
