No Bake Recipes

This is nice!  Thought I'd posted a request earlier but it seems to have disappeared into Cyber Space  Confused
Anyway, I'd be glad of any interesting no bake recipes that could be completed in about an hour during an after school club.

Thanks mug. Off to explore the site now - lots of ideas from initial glance.

You're welcome. I will try to find some other recipes I have used later. How about inventing sandwich fillings. I seem to remember making a cheese spread years ago and you could add all sorts to it.

Sandwiches are a good idea.  I think I need to think outside sweet recipes and explore savouries too.  Thanks Mug.

I also thought about fruit salad today. They could have fun chopping and preparing. I use orange juice in mine. Or fruit kebabs if they are going to eat them as well.

My class made roll ups with flat bread. (middle eastern wraps)  i cut each sheet in to 8 rectangles. The children spread on peanut butter, marmite or hummus, then grated carrot and lettuce out of our class garden. Then they rolled them up. they were a hit. The children could think of other ingredients.

Thanks for the replies.  You both have given me food for thought  Wink and I shall definitely go down the savoury route.  Any other ideas welcome.

Sushi is popular with kids. You would have to cook the rice earlier to allow it to cool. fill it with matchstick cut carrots, celery, spring onions, cucumber, avocado, pickled ginger. Children could choose 2-3 fillings to go in.

Salad People

the children could make people and animals out of fruit and veges. Bodies could be slices of tomato, round cut slice of apple, half a pear etc. Arms and legs from carrot sticks, celery and cucmber. Hair could be sprouts or cut carrots cut  in spikes. If you take  photos before they eat them and do it over several sessions the children get more creative. and they happily eat raw veges!  The parts can be stuck together with peanut butter, hummus or cottage cheese. Sultanas or peanuts for eyes and buttons. Sorry I haven't a photos to show you but hopefully you get the idea.
