Maths lesson - again!Well - had been told I could do anything maths related so had planned a lovely shape lesson loosely based on an idea on teacher's TV suggested by you lot (thanks very much) , but HT (who is observing me with Senco )and he said that the lesson should link to whatever block I am doing at the moment - this is D3 - so measuring. If I wasn't being observed I would be doing capacity or measuring length, so am now having to change my plan to one on capacity or length! Any fab ideas?

capacityI had a lesson on capactity where they had to design the perfect cocktail for an event-could be linked to Diamond Jubilee party. I provided litre cartons of orange, apple cranberry etc and they had to fill the 250ml with concoctions which they chose. They designed their cocktail by choosing the amounts that made 250ml.They also had to come up with a name. I drew an outline of a glass for them to fill in before hand.

I'd do an olympic type event that involves throwing or long jump and link in the measuring, you could even make it into an investigation. Lots of possibilities with measuring, converting metres to cm, measuring accurately to nearest cm etc

Well, math is pretty good subject but I don’t like it because my favorite is chemistry and I love to teach it because of its interesting topics and practical’s as well.
