I need another week off

I've been ill all week and my chest has got so bad that I've had to ring the docs to get antibiotics and steroids. Managed to get a bit of planning done but I've got a class assembly to write by Monday. Also, it's OH's birthday tomorrow and we're going out for a meal. He wanted to go out for cocktails after but I shouldn't drink on the antibiotics.

I want another week off  Crying or Very sad

I'm typing this from my bed cos I feel like crap.

Know that feeling Conflake girl, have felt pants all week, and other than changing a display and sorting all the past SATs papers into some soet of order not done any work, guess what I'll be doing tomorrow and Sunday!

I vote for a 2 week half term and a week less at summer!!!

We are having a 2 week half-term Smile  Well offically 1 week and 2 days, then 3 INSETS which we are doing as twilights.
chatty_teacher

I like it!!!
Chilli Queen

We're doing that in May - lots of twilights up until then and all the inset days put together to make a two week holiday.

I wish my school would do that ! Embarassed I have been ill at the start of the week Cornflake girl so not a lot done here and head emailed me to make sure I have all the science stuff done as HMI is looming so in a slight panic now trying to plan but keep getting distracted.

Hope you feel better soon

Oh blimey cornflake girl. I hope you soon feel better. Do you think you'll be going back to school on Monday anyway?
wotton

hope you are better soon cornflake girl and anyone else who has been ill in the hols.

Oh no that is awful. I was poorly for about 3wks before the holidays and it's taken until now for me to feel fully back to myself, although I am still tired.

Don't rush back into work on Monday if you are not well- I should learn to take my own advice as I never do this and always end up worse. Hope you feel better soon! (((((((((((cornflake girl))))))))))))
greyengine

Hope people are feeling better soon.  Horrible being ill in the holiday, and definitely don't go back until you're properly better.  It's a long stretch until Christmas if you're not on top form.
Rainbow_Bright

I've felt under the weather but not properly ill this holiday and even then I could do with a few more days off.  Don't go back if you're not well, CG, greyengine is right - it's hard work until Christmas and you need to be well before you start. x

Thanks for you're (only kidding I know it's your!  Laughing )  kind messages. I've spent a lot of time in bed today and been to get antibiotics and some steroids from the docs. She listened to my chest and all the deep breaths made me have a coughing fit! Don't imagine that went down too well with the doc having her stethoscope in her ears! Hopefully the medication will have kicked in enough for me to be fit for work on Monday. Worrying about my assembly though.

Could you contact your HT to explain about the assembly or call in a favour from a colleague??? It's awful doing an assembly when you're not your best. x

Not really I'm afraid. It's one where parents attend and they were informed of the date at the beginning of the term so that they could arrange time off work.
