Hiding away!

I'm hiding in my little office - away from the rest of the family - shusssssh! It is my grandson's birthday - he is one and I mistakenly said my daughter could hold it at my house! Little did I know there would be 30 adults and at least 20 babies! The noise is horrific - crying, tired babies !!! My house has been turned into a jungle - streamers, vines and blown up monkeys etc - a lion frightened the life out of me peering over the bathtub when I went for a wee!! I hope some one will help with the clean up later!!
Is anyone else hiding...
Over40

I am hiding from the rain ! I'm thinking of googling instructions to build an ark as we seem to have had rain for weeks. I know there have been some breaks and even sunshine but it's been raining nearly all day here. The garden is water logged and nothing is drying unless I put the heating on. We're supposed to be going to see the Olympic torch in Portsmouth tomorrow afternoon - maybe the weather will put people off.

Good luck with the party. I've got three 11 year olds here who are amusing themselves watching a DVD and eating a 'healthy lunch' of popcorn and chocolate buttons.

I think it was a woman who invented DVd's - someone who wanted peace and quiet for a good hour ha ha! Some people are on the move - 3 hours after the start of the party - what ever happened to a swimming party, where you took your baby and met up with a few friends -far less organising and mess!
Night Garden

Feel for you ejlj, I dread going to my friends little girls birthday party with 33 children! I am such a mean mum, so far both my children have only ever had 4 other friends over. Two being their cousins!

Hope you come out of your hiding place to a tidy peaceful house soon.

ditto re the party Smile

Re the weather, we've had three dry days on the trot including today which is a proper summer's day. Just popped in to put the kettle on then I shall retire outside to soak up this rare sun.............
wicked witch

I would be hiding too ejlj. I used to hate my children's birthday parties. It's so different having them in your own house rather than in your classroom. I'm afraid that I have never seen the point of birthday parties until they were at least 4 either. Embarassed

Five hours after the start of the party the last people left! We won't be doing it again although everyone said it was 'wonderful' - probably because it wasn't their house! As I lay relaxing after the aftermath, I put my hand on a very sicky bib that had been pushed under a cushion on my settee - yucksville! One good thing though - whilst hiding, I have got my planning ready for next week a day early!!  Laughing
