Have you ever made your own cider? We have three apple trees - 1 bramley which always gives us tons, 1 russet which has really disappointed this year but is still very young, and 1 unidentified apple tree that always gives a good crop of green eaters.
No matter how hard we try, quite a lot always go to waste, but this cannot be allowed to continue!
This year I'm thinking of trying my hand at making my own cider. The only problem is that I haven't a clue how to do it! If anyone else has ever had a go, I'd love to hear your success stories. Or failures, come to that, but I'm trying to remain optomistic

We have never done this - although I would love to. You really need an apple crusher in order to do it well.

We've got friends who planted a vineyard on the site of an old fruit farm - they turn all their left over apples into cider and apple juice. But I've no idea how they do it. Where in the country are you? Can you find a local cider maker who would let you use their kit??
