Got through last few weeks of observations but..............

Survived parents in to watch me teach phonics 2 days running, observation by HT (Outstanding  Embarassed ), observation by whizzy AST year group partner (Good with outstanding features  Embarassed ) only to find that our SIP wants to observe me on Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!  What have I done to deserve this??????????????????????????????????????

They want to see your good practice so they can tell everyone what an asset you are to the school!
Well done so far, you must be very pleased x

Good for you! You must be doing so well!

Lots of pressure, but you seem to be surviving it all admirably and coming through with flying colours.

Oh! I always feel I have to prove myself - very, very mature NQT +1yr. I think everyone thinks I can do it when most of the time I feel like a fraud and, sometime soon, someone will find me out!!!!! I really do think that everyone just wants to check I am up to the job though. I am. slowly but surely, beginning to grow in confidence, but still terrified of being watched by SIP who is an early years specialist.  Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, but it never gets any better. It's always horrible knowing the SIP is observing and I still feel like a fraud after teaching for 15 years!

In both a positive & negative aspect of the Observation - you will at least get some relevant or supportive constructive practical feedback from the SIP if they are EY specialist - too often you come across SIP who are KS2 and target driven rather than the actual practical hands on approach of EY. So any feedback would be actually useful hopefully! (Don't think I have worded how I mean to say it but you get the gist???) Also - you must be doing something right if you have survived so many observations so far including NQT ones so congratulations. You have a hard time with both R and YR1 but you seem to be managing to gap well.

Thanks all - I have a fab year group partner who makes my life so much easier - plus a very experienced TA and fantastic colleagues.  Hope it didn't come across as if I was showing off!!!  I know I am so lucky and I think I will always feel like a fraud redredrobin - it took me so long to get where I am and, when I get good feedback, I always think - thank goodness you saw that lesson and not yesterday's or the day before!  I know its all about confidence and am trying hard to believe in myself.  Parent's evenings next week so maybe I will be brought back down to earth!!!
