food allergy testing

I was really ill last night with severe stomachache. I could feel my stomach becoming more and more bloated (until I looked like I was about 8 months pregnant). The pain was very intense and I spent ages in the bathroom in agony. I can't cope with another night like that. Although I suffer from IBS, I think I might be allergic to something (e.g. wheat) but would need to be tested to find out for sure.

Was wondering if anyone had experience of being tested for food allergies and could give me some info?

Sorry, no experience of testing, but hope you're feeling better today. (You could always just try cutting wheat out of your diet and see if your symptoms improve).

I was feeling better but have had my tea and I'm starting to get a pain again  Sad

I guess I could cut out wheat but I thought they might test several types of food at once or maybe look at the interaction between different food additives or something.

I keep meaning to write down what I've eaten on days when I have these bad pains but I never do.

i had food intolerance testing several years ago and i am intolerant to wheat. it was done at a health food shop and they put a sensor thing on the end of my finger while i held another thing in my other hand. I then had to eliminate wheat for  a month (i think) then see if i felt better. i did feel better!
my symptoms happen about 24 hours after eating something wheaty!

I know a lot of health food shops do them. Just pop in and ask.
