Fleetwood Mac

Watched this programme tonight. If you are a fan like me you will enjoy it. From Rumours through Tusk and Tango in the Night to the present day. Shame it didn't do more of the Peter Green days, but still brill.

All the in fighting and tension with this band over the years is amazing and Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham are still so full of angst

I'll watch this on iplayer sh - thanks for the heads up. I think I read/heard that they were touring again tho don't know what the line up was.

Saw them in Manchester at half term. Lindsay Buckingham was really on form - fantastic guitar work. He and Stevie played a brilliant rendition of Tusk - just guitar and 2 voices - didn't recognise it at first. That's the beauty of a live performance imho.  Missed the vocals of Christine McVie - 'her' songs sung by Stevie didn't sound right! x

Would have loved to have seen that oatcake.

Cofnchoc - the programme is a history of the band not about their recent tour although it goes into it at the end.
Rainbow_Bright

Glad you enjoyed it, oatcake.   Might try and catch the programme on iplayer.

rock family trees on bbc4 last night was about Fleetwood Mac too.  That was good aswell.

Strange cooincidence reading this as I've just got in and had Best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac on in the car.
Louiw

I watched something the other night all about Fleetwood Mac. I didn't really know a lot about the band themselves (liked their music) before the program but it was obvious there was a lot of fights!

I am a big Peter Green fan Chilli Queen - I saw him with The Splinter group a few years ago when he made a bit of a come back. Such a sad but talented man. I'd seen the rock family trees thing before but this other programme was new this week I think. Louix it was on bbc1 earlier in the week but was on too late for me that night - I was glad it was repeated on BBc4 because I forgot to tape it.
Louiw

I didn't plan to watch it, but it was on and I really enjoyed it. Didn't stay up until the end so I think I'll find it on IPlayer!
Missed Have I got News last night too, so I've got 2 to watch!
Chilli Queen

I could have seen Peter Green in Burnley some years ago with Cozy Powell and Neil Murray but I didn't - I wish I had.

I think his guitar playing is sublime. A more emotional player than Eric Clapton I feel.
Chilli Queen

I'm not keen on Rumours, Tusk etc. Fleetwood Mac but I love the Peter Green stuff.  Like you said, he's a fantastic guitarist but so troubled.  Talking of bluesy stuff did you see Booker T at the Cambridge Folk Festival last night on BBC4?  That was good too.

No I missed that. I might see if I can catch a repeat.
