Favourite authors?Inspired by the thread about finsihing a really good book I started thinking about the books I have loved and their authors.
I think my favourite authors of adult books are:

My absolute favourites are Marian Keyes and John Grisham.
Also like Susannah Gregory, Sheila Quigley, Jane green, Mike Gayle, Helen Forrester,Nick Hornby, Dan Brown and Sam Bourne, Phillipa Gregory and Sophie Kinsella

i love marian keyes as well. I have most of her books but haven't read her latest yet. i have read several Nick Hornby as well. i loved high Fidelity! All the lists were fun.
i haven't read the other authors you mention magpie. I have seen their books in the shops.

I recommend Angels and demons, better than Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown and The Righteous Men by Sam Bourne, The other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory and anything at all by the others!

i have the Da Vinci Code but haven't read it. My son liked it.

Me too!! When i saw this thread i though ooh it will be full of clever books & authors and such I too adore Sophie Kinsella, Marian Keyes etc its nice just to escape in a book for a bit.
Although, i have not read the latest book either tui - i bought it last year but just cannot get into it.

PD James for a master class in the detective novel and her wonderful way with words
Mavis Cheek for humour for women of a certain age
Carol Shields for her rich take on the ups and downs of life
Peter Carey for wonderful storytelling
Robert Harris for adventure thrillers
The Brontes for romantic classics
also usually like (but not always) Sebastian Faulkes, Ian McKewan, Margaret Atwood, Barbara Kingsolver, Barbara Trapido, Edna O'Brian
and I know she is not to everyones taste but I can't leave out Iris Murdoch
