Did you have a full class?

I was missing 4 pupils today.  One had pneumonia in the summer, which left him with chronic asthma and an awful cough when he was in school. Off today because in a hospital 25 miles away rather than one of our 2 local ones (means it is serious) being helped to breathe whilst suffering swine flu.  Poor lad - not the best behaved, but you would not wish that on anyone.  Sad

Poor thing, that's not nice at all.

I had 2 missing today and there were several more away lower down the school.
kesunder

yes, for the first time in a long time as a stupid number of them seemed to go on holiday towards the end of last half term. we were bottom of attendance percentages!!!!
Sniggle

On the friday of last term the teacher had 10 away. I always have a full house!
cornflake girl

I had two off today but seven off before half term.
bevevans22

My KS1 classes this morning were full but at least 4-5 absent in every Y5 class this afternoon!!
bscaca

I only had 1 off today, but he is very disruptive and deeply irritating so it felt like there were a lot more off! Sadly his mother has deemed him fit for tomorrow!
squiggle7

I only had 2 off with ear infections today but quiet ones so it doesn't make much difference.
Night Garden

NO as kids don't go back till Wed and I can bet a few bob that a few will see this as an oppurtunity to have a two week holiday.

I had no children at all today as it was a Teacher Day.  But on the last day before the break, we had 22 off in Years 5 and 6 out of a total of 72!  Some sort of horrible tummy bug doing the rounds, so hope they're well and trully over that by now.
emadam

I had no children neither as Training Day, but before half-term had three on holiday and four off ill. Hoping for a full house tomorrow.

We had an Inset day but one unfortunate little lad turned up ready for school and his mum didn't come to collect him till lunch time! Bless him, he was pretty gutted!
pink_monkey

I had two children away, both with tummy bugs.  Hope your pupil recovers soon wotsit.
nicolagraham

I had 10 children off before the holidays, 5 off yesterday and 2 off today. All a mixture of swine flu, colds, tummy bugs, although one pupil has had a burst appendix poor thing and has been off for 3 weeks now! Sad
jenny_pest

Oooh sounds like we are all suffering in one way of another! I have had 7 off before half term and 1 and 3 off each day so far this week... would you believe also... I have not yet had a full day full time full class of 26 in yet!! They are always off!!!! So young so pick up everything!!
Rainbow_Bright

We have the problem that our littlies have a day off for silly little things - a sniffle here and a little cough there.   Think they're a bit pandered to by parents really whereas most of my older ones have a bit more staying power!!
jenny_pest

One of mine is having the week off because its her birthday - "She has a cough" but i'm under no illusion!
bscaca

As predicted difficult child was back in school today and still difficult. The straw that broke my back today was his singing whilst i was teaching -  he already had several warnings for other disruptive behaviour sent him to the Head who sent him back 2 minutes later!!
Rainbow_Bright

You mean to say you weren't born yesterday, JP?!

Child now out of intensive care, but still poorly and in hospital. Into his 3rd week of actually suffering swine flu.

Although we are Foundation stage & are supseptible (sp??) to everything - we have not yet had a full class in for a full day yet!!
myrtle

full + one new today, 33 altogether....
JD1970

I had 5 off today which is unusual. 1 is on holiday, 1 is frequently off, but the rest were quite unexpected.
kesunder

i was surprised to have a full house today after we had been on residential all weekend!!
queenie80

wotsit - I hope that he is ok and getting better every day.

I had one off, but not made a difference. I have 3/4 boys that are really disruptive and they are never off!
tog

All mine were in Smile
