Data handling maths obs lessonsI may have 2 with a low ability year 3 / 4 class as we set.
1st lesson - Wram up counting in 5's and then link to tally charts
Then main provide kids with some data not sure of topic as want to make it real life but engaging. Maybe llok at how to create pictograms where each picture is 1 person.
Highers - to maybe do bar charts with me or where a picture has a higher value.
Any ideas greatly appreciated and will share resources and planning

a quick pictogramthat I do as an intro is to give them a slip of paper/post it with an eye on/or hair and they have to colour it in according to their eye/hair colour and then stick on whiteboard to create an immediate pictogram

I got my Year 3s to all bring in an empty crisp packet for their favourite flavour crisp. Made a pictogram on the whiteboard with blu-tack. Children loved doing it and very keen to do more.
