Creative ideas for Foundation 2 classes.I asked on primary if anyone knew of anywhere we can share creative ideas for Reception, but it looks like noone does so I am doing as Bluerose suggested and starting an ideas thread. I know there are areas for creative and outstanding lesson plans, but would love to share some - just ideas. Like something we have done that really went down well - something that really sparked the children's imagination. For instance - our topic is Jungle. Today I put a large piece of paper outside with sponges and green paint and the kids made the jungle background, they then decided they wanted to make the animals/flowers to put on it so tomorrow I am putting out stuff to enable them to do that and the background is now up in the classroom where they can stick on their creations. It worked so well and I know I don't have enough of these sort of ideas, so it would be brilliant to hear what has worked for others.

Creative ideasHi
First time I have posted here, so hope I am doing it correctly! It's a nice idea for a thread.
I recently did minibeasts and there were a couple of things that the children really enjoyed. I wanted to focus on psed by looking at caring for minibeasts by creating a bug code. We started off by lying on school field in the grass imagining we were minibeasts, talking about how we would feel being that tiny etc. This led us brainstorming to create 4 rules on how to care for minibeasts, designing a big bug code poster. We then followed up on this with a trip to the wildlife garden where we used the bug code. They were really good at handling them, being careful to follow our code.
Another thing that worked very well was designing a fantasy minibeast as a class. We looked at the idea of voting and voted on the number of legs, shape of eyes, colour and name etc. This gave lots of nice links to PSRN and CD. We then created a giant minibeast on the playground. I provided them with a huge box of fabric and they had to work co-operatively to find other things to make it. They found and used things like the fabric, guttering, crates, balls etc and really worked well together to figure out things like what would make good feelers, how they could make the eyes etc.
