cheese flanHas anyone got a simple recipe? I want to try it with my sons, who are very unadventurous with food! Both loved this as babies but I have not tried for a while and cannot find my recipe.

Heres my basic cheese and onion pie recipe which you could adapt
2 onions chopped
6oz cheese, grated
1 egg
seasoning
7 1/2 oz packet pastry ( either short crust or puff)
Optional additional veg - eg courgettes, leeks, butter beans, tomatoes
Optional herbs, basil, chives, parsley
Simmer onions in water for approx 5 mins. Drain and mix with cheese ( and herbs if using). Beat in egg ( leave a little for brushing pastry with at end). Line your pie dish. Put in mixture. Put on a layer of your optional veg if using. Cover with top if its a pie or make some criss cross latticing with pastry strips for a flan. Brush with egg. Bake 200c for about 30 mins.
