Blooming typical!

My youngest 2 are twins.  Gorgeous 3 - very academic - target 3 As at A level - applying for medical school - Gorgeous 4 - dyslexic - doing really well in her childcare course, but used to failing when her twin succeeds!  Both took their theory tests this week - he passed - of course - she failed - by 2 marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It really is unfair cos she is much more practical than him, but he is so much better in test situations - confidence I suppose.  Anyway, she is taking hers again tomorrow and I am so hoping that she passes.  She is so lovely and deserves it.  Can you all keep your fingers crossed please?

Definitely.
Know just what you mean, as our youngest is much less academic than the other two but much more practical - she'd be the one you'd ask to make tea, for instance.  She really blossomed after the other two left home and I felt she relaxed into being herself much more, and in the end did quite well with here A levels.  But much harder for twins when they must go through life doing everything at the same time.
Hope it goes really well for her tomorrow.

sugarandspices

Good luck to her for tomorrow.
wotton

does she get any "help" with the exam like extra time because of her dyslexia? Having never done the theory exam I have no idea what it involves.
Sniggle

My fingers are well and truly crossed for her. Good luck!
choccat

Everything crossed for her.

As the "academic" one of twins it wasn't all easy quite upsetting actually when I wasn't trusted to do things as I was awkward!!!
queenlit

Fingers crossed and sending good luck. Sometimes things are easier when you know what you are up against.
whoa there pickle

Fingers crossed for her.

Ah, fingers crossed for her.

Well - we've done what we can.  She has practised and practised the online tests, we've helped her with the highway code (I have learnt all sorts  Laughing ) and she's on her way.  Test at 10.

Will send good vibes at 10!!

Thank you.

Let us know how she does.  Funny how we get to our twenties or so and think we're done with exam worries for the rest of our lives ..... until we realise we've got to go through it all again with our children.
wotsitagain

Awww, bless her.  I wonder if you secretly hope that she will pass the practical test first time whereas gorgeoustwinboy needs a couple of tries.  I know that I was pleased for wotsit2 when he was driving before wotsit1 (although now wotsit1 has tried and failed SIX times, I am a trifle bored - and poor!)
gorgeous51

Not only the exam worries we have to go through with them - I remember when my eldest's first real girlfriend finished with him - it was awful!

Unfortunately she failed again!

Oh no!!  She'll get there eventually.  If it's any consolidation I know a lot of people who've had trouble passing this- also most of what you learn to useless and you'll never use driving ever!
wotsitagain

Oh dear, I hope she is not too upset.  And I hope twin bro is being lovely about it.

(Waiting to find out the outcome of this was my excuse for not getting dressed - now I shall have to get up and get going. Sad)
gorgeous51

Her twin is being lovely about it, but he can't really help being how he is.  She has just texted me to say she is not doing it again and sorry for wasting my money!!!!!  Told you she was lovely!  Think she might do it secretly next time then at least she doesn't have to tell us if she fails again.

Thanks SH.  She does have the headset on and have the questions read to her, but she really does not want to have the extra time - according to her it would make no difference!  I don't know really but have to bow to her wishes.  She failed by 2 marks on Tuesday and 1 mark today!

She's making progress then! She'll get there. Smile
gorgeous51

She is a fab driver by the way.  Much more careful than her brother and I would much rather drive with her than with him, but I think it is a confidence thing and we will have to go through this again when she takes the practical test!
wotsitagain

So long as she drives safely etc, she may well do better with the practical.  Examiners seem to be nervous about confident young men...

Big hug for her.
greyengine

What a shame.  Hugs for you and her.   Hope she manages to find the confidence to have another go - she's so nearly there.
nicolagraham

Just wanted to catch up on this thread as I'd been wondering how she got on. Bless her- hope she's not too downhearted and will give it another try.

Give her all of our best wishes x

Thanks all - another test booked for 13th November so hopefully will have better news then!
