Amazon KindleI have just bought an Amazon Kindle and have surprised myself by how much I like it. My two greatest passions are reading and technology so the 2 together are like a match made in heaven for me!
Does anyone else have one and if so what do you think about it?

I really like the aesthetic qualities of holding a paper book. i have tried reading novels on our ipad but it drives me mad and feels all wrong.

I tried on an ipad and it was not good but a Kindle is very different.

I love books so think I would always buy paperbased but I can see the advantages of kindle when going on holiday and would be tempted just for that.

My OH got me one as a surprise a couple of weeks ago and I'm really liking it. Have an ipad too and don't mind reading books on that, but OH often uses ipad too and if I'm reading a book, I want to be able to pick it up whenever I want to. Kindle is more exclusively mine.

I find I am reading more (didn't think it was actually possible) since I got the Kindle. The best thing is to be able to get a free sample of a book (which is usually several chapters) and then being able to get the book itself in less than a minute.

I'd need it to be waterproof as I love reading in the bath!

I like how quick it is too, moonpig. I saw a book recommended on the TV book club a while ago and had downloaded it and was able to read it within a couple of minutes.

I love books! I like reading the blurbs, flicking through the pages, I never fold the corners or put it face down!
I keep my favourite books and re-read them. I love the illustrations in children's paperbacks that i remember from my childhood (famous five, Charlotte's web, Magic Faraway tree...) But I also love gadgets and would love an Ipad!
But I think my love of books wouldn't be satisfied on a kindle!!!

I bought Mr C one for his birthday. Am surprised by how much I miss him turning the pages when he is reading in bed.

my son sent me a kobo last week. It is a cheaper version of a kindle. Haven't seen a kindle so don't know how it differs. It has 200 books loaded on it. Some are standard classics that are in public domain and some that my son downloaded while he had it. I haven't tried loading anything new on it yet as I don't have a cord for it.
I still like real books and for non fiction gardening, recipe and doing books you need the big glossy pages.
I can see how reading magazines online will come as long as down load speeds improve and price become cheaper.
