A Thousand Splendid Suns

Has been mentioned on other threads, but I thought that it deserved one of its own. A fantastic book, very very moving.
I have never so much wanted a character in a book to die!  (won't spoil it by telling you what happens) but a truly moving book, and you get to understand a bit more about Afghanistan along the way. Can't recommend it highly enough. Smile  Smile  Smile  Smile  Smile

I agree hawk it is a wonderful book, I was very emotional after I had finished it. It wasn't until afterwards that I really looked at the cover and saw its significance.

Absolutely agree.  Started it without very high expectations but was soon gripped.  As you say, Hawk, great insight into Afghanistan.

I read this a couple of years ago and I absolutely loved it. Emotional and interesting. Really gripping!
