Hi there
Just wondering if any nice people out there have any good assessments they use on entry to Nursery and then to Reception, which give a baseline profile score and an holistic overview of the child. Had OFSTED last year and they said they wanted on entry profile scores to Nursery based on EYFSP, but LA have said we should make an on entry judgement of each child based on the Ages and Stages guidance. HELLPPPP! What do you do?
Many anticipated thank yous! |

I too am on the lookout for something similar, as a nursery teacher we have only used baseline assessments in the past for basic, what the child can do.. etc.. but nothing that exciting and it has been done in mid october. I would like to develop something simliar myself, so will let you know if i get round to changing ours and will send you a copy. Also would be interested to see if anyone else has any to share?
Thanks
P.s not many EY people on here so don't get your hopes up too high!!! |

Thanks Jenny pest. If i find anything i'll pass it on to you too. I have this booklet i found from somewhere but can't remember where. I think it is just for Reception, but could easily be used in Nursery. See what you think. It might have even come from Bev's site.

I have an entry assessment that is obviously done by the same person as the one stevanam posted but it has different pages. Possibly updated. I think i got it off tes
i do several oral language tasks, alphabet, a writing task- name and to see how they hold their pencil, a drawing task to see if they can draw a person and if they use several colours, counting tasks, colour and shape knowledge. Concepts of print, class management things like will they respond to instructions, listen to a story, sit on the mat, I don't level them as such but it gives me a starting point for teaching them.
I don't know if that is what you are meaning or if you want to just level them. i can't help with that as we have a different system,. |
