I was missing 4 pupils today. One had pneumonia in the summer, which left him with chronic asthma and an awful cough when he was in school. Off today because in a hospital 25 miles away rather than one of our 2 local ones (means it is serious) being helped to breathe whilst suffering swine flu. Poor lad - not the best behaved, but you would not wish that on anyone. |

My KS1 classes this morning were full but at least 4-5 absent in every Y5 class this afternoon!! _________________ This is either madness... or brilliance.

| I only had 1 off today, but he is very disruptive and deeply irritating so it felt like there were a lot more off! Sadly his mother has deemed him fit for tomorrow! |

I only had 2 off with ear infections today but quiet ones so it doesn't make much difference. _________________ You live and learn. At any rate, you live. |

| I had no children at all today as it was a Teacher Day. But on the last day before the break, we had 22 off in Years 5 and 6 out of a total of 72! Some sort of horrible tummy bug doing the rounds, so hope they're well and trully over that by now. |

I had 10 children off before the holidays, 5 off yesterday and 2 off today. All a mixture of swine flu, colds, tummy bugs, although one pupil has had a burst appendix poor thing and has been off for 3 weeks now! |

We have the problem that our littlies have a day off for silly little things - a sniffle here and a little cough there. Think they're a bit pandered to by parents really whereas most of my older ones have a bit more staying power!! _________________ Waheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... house! |

| As predicted difficult child was back in school today and still difficult. The straw that broke my back today was his singing whilst i was teaching - he already had several warnings for other disruptive behaviour sent him to the Head who sent him back 2 minutes later!! |

Child now out of intensive care, but still poorly and in hospital. Into his 3rd week of actually suffering swine flu. |
